About Steve Gold

Steve Gold runs THCA Preparations, a site focused on acidic cannabinoid preparation, delivery, and the pharmacology that helps explain how these compounds act. His current work centers on the relationship between preparation and biological outcome: how preparation choices shape the finished preparation and how it behaves within a biological system.

That perspective grew out of more than a decade in the cannabis processing equipment field, working with extractors, lab personnel, and formulators, particularly around cannabis oils and vape-oil production. Much of that work involved improving consistency through high-shear processing, optimizing particle size in oils, tinctures, and emulsions, and preserving stability in concentrates and full-spectrum formulations. He also developed a proprietary ice water hash-based THCA sublingual preparation method, refined over more than a decade of testing. That range of work shaped how he thinks about preparation today, not as a single step but as a series of choices that determine what the finished preparation actually is.

Some of that work was documented publicly. Steve wrote Emulsifying Vegetable Glycerin and BHO for E-juice for Skunk Pharm Research, covering the formulation challenges involved in getting BHO to emulsify properly in a carrier. He also wrote How to Purge Ethanol from Cannabis Oil Using the CAT MCS78 Hotplate Stirrer, documenting a solvent-removal method for cannabis oil using CAT Scientific equipment. Both articles reflect a long-standing interest in the practical mechanics of cannabis formulation and processing, an interest that continues through his current work.

Steve's interest in THCA dates back to 2011. Over time, his focus became increasingly centered on the preparation challenges specific to acidic cannabinoids. THCA Preparations grew out of that progression. The site carries that practical processing perspective into its examination of how THCA is prepared, delivered, and studied.
